Halu hallita

A true hero is one who

masters himself before

attempting to master the

world.

Beware of those who

seek constant crowds;

they are nothing alone.

To regard the pains of virtue

as pleasant, and the pleasures

of vice as painful, is the mark of

a man who has trained himself.

Nothing is more despicable

than respect  based on fear.

One can live in this world anonymously,

completely unknown, without being

famous, ambitius, cruel.

Conquer yourself

rather than the

world.

Power does not corrupt.

Fear corrupts, perhaps fear

of a loss of power.

Most men want to rule over

others. But the great and wise

man rules over himself.

Angry people 

want you to 

see how powerful

they are.

Loving people

want you to

see how powerful

YOU are.

It is absurd that a man   

should rule others, who   

cannot rule himself.

He who does not desire

power is fit to hold it.

A leader is best when people

barely know that he exists.

Correction does much, but 

encouragement does more.

No man ever listened

himself out of a job.

Mastering of others is strength;

mastering of yourself is true

power.

The tyrant dies and his rule is over;

the martyr dies and his rule begins.

The mark of the immature man

is that he wants to die nobly for 

a cause, while the mark of the

mature man is that he wants to

live humbly for one.

Never follow a leader who is

more in love with power

than people.

He who is not a good servant

will not be a good master.

A leader is best when people

barely know that he exists.

The urge to save humanity

is almost always only a false-face

for the urge to rule it.

Most of the trouble in the 

world is caused bu people 

wanting to be important.

The worst ruler is one

who cannot rule himself.
